At Bovingdon we have seen a lot of interest from youngsters wanting to play the game and we are pleased to say that Bovingdon CC has been able to respond to this interest. Last year saw the introduction of a colts side at under 17 level, which we are continuing to build on this coming season. We would welcome any new members to our squad. In addition, we will be running an Under 13 side this year and thanks to a very generous funding from the Bovingdon Youth Activities Association, we have been able to secure all the equipment (helmets, pads, bats etc) required to provide a safe and stimulating environment for youngsters to experience the game- so no, it will not cost you a small fortune to kit yourself out. Those of you, who wish to take advantage of this, should make a note of the following dates. UNDER 13 Tuesday 18th APRIL Open Evening at the club 6.00-7.30 –Training session, followed by a short game- just turn up and meet us. UNDER 17 Thursday 20th APRIL 6.00- 7.30 – same format as for U13 above. If you cannot make the appropriate date for your age group, then you can contact Pete Hannell, the youth team coach on, 07775994073. We continue, as always, to welcome new players at the senior level. Indoor practice nets are held on Monday evenings between 8.15 and 9.30 at Westbrook Hay School and prospective new players are very welcome to attend. We run two Saturday XIs and one Sunday XI throughout the summer months. On Saturdays, the Club plays in the Kookaburra Mid-Bucks League, with the First XI set to compete in Division One and the Second XI in Division Three during the 2006 season. Sunday fixtures are all friendlies, usually against other local village sides.
