Residents are invited to join your Parish Councillors for ‘wine and nibbles’ at the Annual Parish Meeting to be held on Monday 14th May 2018 starting at 7.00 p.m. in the Memorial Hall, High Street, Bovingdon.
We are pleased to welcome Jacqueline Veater, our guest speaker. Jacqueline is an experienced planning consultant and she will be giving a presentation on the benefits of Bovingdon having its own Neighbourhood Plan.
A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development and growth of an area. It may contain a vision, aims, planning policies, proposals for improving the area or providing new facilities, or allocation of key sites for specific kinds of development.
Neighbourhood Plans enable communities to take the lead in producing part of the statutory development plan for the area; these plans must be consulted when determining planning applications in a neighbourhood area.
Neighbourhood planning is supported by central government through the Localism Act.
The Annual Meeting of Bovingdon Parish Council will follow this presentation.
Don’t miss this opportunity to meet your councillors, get an update on what’s happening in Bovingdon and have your say! Join in and be part of your community
